William S. Holloway, Jr.'s Obituary
William Shelton Holloway, Jr. of Grasonville Maryland, died unexpectedly on July 6th, following a brief illness. He was 65 years old. He was born in Washington, D.C. and initially lived in Landover Hills, Maryland. His family moved to Edgewater, Maryland in 1971, where he grew up playing outside, ice skating on the pond, swimming in the bay and enjoying the love of his life – fishing. He was a 1979 graduate of South River High School. After graduating from high school, Bill spent his entire life working in the construction business, mainly as a site superintendent for major contractors. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, hunting and of course, fishing. Bill was the best handyman around and was in high demand with friends and family. Bill was also an avid Washington Redskins fan.
Bill was predeceased by his father, William Holloway, Sr., his mother, Joyce Scanlon, his stepfather, John Scanlon, and his beloved brother, Steven Holloway. He is survived by his son and favorite fishing companion, Will Holloway of Glen Burnie, his sisters Kathy Egeli (Matthew), Mary Symanski (Matt), Bridget Scanlon (Cassie), and his brother and “Special Olympic” champion, Danny Scanlon. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends, which include some very special hunting, golfing and fishing buddies.
No services are planned at this time. The family is hoping to have a memorial gathering in the near future.
