Roger Jr., I’m so sorry for your loss.
Your dad was someone who always made the effort to stay connected — he truly cared about his family and loved you deeply. I remember how excited I was as a kid whenever he came to visit. One of my favorite memories was how he’d let us punch his stomach — I’m not sure why he let us do that, but it always made us laugh.
Years later, when I had my own kids, he did the same with them. It was just one of the many ways he connected with the kids. And they also use to laugh hysterically. Anytime I needed him, he was just a phone call away. He was the one person I could always rely on.
Yes, he could be stubborn at times, but he was always fair — and he had a good heart. I will miss him deeply. Tom and I send our condolences.
We love and miss you Uncle Roger!! Your never ending sweet sense of humor was definitely one of a kind!! Rest in Heaven!!
Love Always,
Your NC Niece ❤️
My Dad was no stranger to adversity. My Dad experienced many difficulties in life but his resilience in overcoming these misfortunes was a cornerstone of his character. In better times, He loved to make people laugh and I suspect this made him feel better. For work, His life was defined by his unwavering commitment to service and protection of the Public. From his days as a Maryland Special Police Officer at the Social Security Administration to his time as an Armored Van Driver and Guard, and later at the Maryland House of Correction, Dad dedicated his career to keeping our community safe from crime and violent offenders. His work ethic and sense of duty were cornerstones of his character, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. A day will not go by, Where I will not think of Dad and how I can live my life to respect Dad. Semper Fi, Dad. We love You. Your Son.
