Raymond Eugene Gibson's Obituary
Raymond Eugene Gibson, 89 passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in his favorite place, his home in Annapolis, Maryland on the Little Magothy River surrounded by his loved ones. Raymond was born December 28, 1932 in Roanoke, Virginia and was a proud southern gentleman. He graduated from Virginia Poly-technical Institute then joined the United States Army and fought during the Korean War. He later volunteered to go to Vietnam during the Vietnam War as a civilian in the beginning of his 30 plus years of service with the Federal Government.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Mary Helen Gibson and his eldest son Scott Eugene Gibson. He is survived by his children Glynis Anne Gibson and her husband Scott, Laura Mae Gibson- Degler and her husband Douglas, Joseph Kelly Eugene Gibson and his wife Gwen, Lee Meredith Eugene Gibson and his wife Kerrileigh, his 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and his girlfriend of 8 years, Maureen Lombardo.
A celebration of Raymond's long and beautiful life will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 1505 Crownsville Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032 beginning at 11:30 am with a reception to follow in the Congregation Hall. Following the reception Raymond's remains will be buried with his wife, Mary Helen's ashes with Military Honors at Crownsville Veteran's Cemetery.
