I offer my deepest sympathy to the Gibson family on the loss of Ray, a truly remarkable man. He was the kindest man I have ever known. Ray attended VPI when he was a young man and enjoyed his time there. He often paraphrased the cadets’ motto: “A gentleman neither lies, cheats nor steals. Every cadet is a gentleman.” I believe that Ray followed that motto for his entire life.
My condolences to the Family. Ray was a great friend, mentor and boss. He was a good man. I felt as though Ray and Mary Helen and your family was my home away from home. I will truly miss Ray but have many fond memories of the time we spent together over the years. He truly was a friend for a lifetime. Larry and I and family will miss him.
