Pierre Marcel Francois' Obituary
Pierre Marcel Francois, 86, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland following a brief illness. He leaves his brother Andre Francois; son Marcel Raymond Francois and his daughter Renee Francois Sines; three granddaughters and one great grandson.
Pierre was born in in Clichy, France on July 27, 1930. At age 2 he and his family transported to the United States and took residence in Marley Park, Maryland. When Pierre was 20 years old he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After completing his service, he worked for Otis Elevators until retiring in 1982.
He met his wife, Theresia Schall, at the Honey Bee Diner; they were married December 20, 1958 at Holy Trinity Church. The newlyweds moved to West Annapolis where they lived until their deaths. Theresia died October 3, 2003.
Pierre enjoyed time spent with his family and close friends. In his early years you could find him fishing on the Severn, steaming crabs on his back porch and enjoying a cold beer. As he aged, he enjoyed gardening, watching the birds and documenting historical events.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at Lasting Tributes Funeral Home in Annapolis, Maryland beginning at 10:00 am. The burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery following the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Weems Creek Church or the Wounded Warriors Project.
