My cousins, you must be able to take some consolation in the knowledge that your father is now at peace with God. I hope you will be able to find even greater solace in pleasant memories of your father as a fine and understanding man.
As unfair as this premature passing of your father may seem to you, you must accept it as God's will. You know that your father loved you very deeply, wanted you to do well, wanted you to be challenged and productive in your life's work, and, most of all, wanted you to be happy. He would expect you to recover from this setback, redouble your efforts in live, achieve those goals you set for yourselves, and find the self-realization that comes from living productive, good, and wholesome lives.
Shirley Ann, grandchildren and other family members- it goes without saying that you will have to take on a greater share of family responsibilities. I know that you will be up to these added tasks.
I was so glad to read that Michael went and participated in the game the other night. Worrying about what or how others will think about you going, at this time is not important. We have to find strength to carry on and know that we are loved-even when our love ones leave us. He would want you to continue with the things that were there prior to his leaving. Remember that you guys loved Michael (Rat), but God loved him more.
Lovingly,
Bernice Ryle Thomas,
