Matthew "Mac" Rogers' Obituary
Matthew "Mac" Francis Rogers of Centreville, MD was born November 3, 1938 and was raised in Eastport, MD. Graduated from Annapolis High School in 1957. He was a volunteer firefighter for Annapolis City Fire Department during high school and until he enlisted and served 4 years in the United States Air Force. Once he returned from his duty in the Air Force he became a paid firefighter for the Annapolis City Fire Department. He worked his way up in rank to Captain until he retired in 1999 with a proud 38 years of service.
He loved the Chesapeake Bay where he did most of his fishing, crabbing and boating. He was an avid NASCAR and Ravens fan he also enjoyed watching Fox News. Some of his favorite summer activities were gardening, growing his summer tomatoes, and watching hummingbirds on his feeders. Mac loved sitting out on his front porch soaking up the sunshine with his wife and dog, while conversing with his neighbors.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife Renee Rogers. Son, John Emrick (Carolyn), Daughter, Lauren Emrick (David Dorsey), Father, Kenneth "Buddy Rogers and step mother Ann of Chester, MD. His brother Kenny Rogers of Illinois. His beloved dog and shadow, Zoe. Preceded in death by his mother Ethel Louise Rogers.
