Growing up, Julie’s house was the place to be. We loved having sleepovers there because we knew Julie would be preparing the most incredible pasta. We would all gather around the kitchen bar, sharing stories and laughing endlessly. Julie was warm, loving, and always ready with a laugh. It was impossible not to feel instantly comfortable around her.
Before we left for college, Julie gifted each of our friends a small framed print. Mine said “10 mil Besos,” a nod to being in the Spanish immersion program with Vero. That print has stayed with me ever since and has hung in more than five different homes. I’m grateful to have this small reminder of Julie and the immense love she shared so freely with others.
