We remember first meeting George backing the '60's. Since Cork and George both were trumpet players, there was an instant connection and many enjoyable discussions about music. We became friends and always celebrated our anniversary where George was playing. We have all had a lot of good times together and many laughs. Our sympathy and prayers are with you Ruth and your children. We love you all.

Many years ago, George, a friend and fellow musician of my father, Corky Walters, was at a backyard party for my parents' anniversary. He was talking and then handed the microphone to me to say a few words. I started to talk, but just moved my lips, pretending like the mic wasn't working. George, immediately jumped up to help fix it for me. But then he realized I was just pulling his leg, as he did so many times to bring a smile to people's hearts. And I will always remember him showing me the picture of his "Pride and Joy." George, you made people feel good! Ruth, my deepest sympathies to you and to all the children.

I always felt so blessed to have George and Ruth as friends in my life. I remember the times I bowled for him, as a sub on his team. Never felt I was good enough, but He was always gracious about it.
Then our paths crossed again, as we shared a love of JESUS, at South Shore Baptist Church. I could always count on George to tell me the truth about anything we talked about. He is safe with JESUS, now. He will be missed, by his loving family, and all who knew him.
