Francis R Donohue's Obituary
Francis (Frank) R. Donohue, 69, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family and very best friends. Born on August 10, 1956 in Baltimore, Frank lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep compassion, and a profound commitment to helping others. Of all Frank’s accomplishments, he was perhaps most proud of his 26 years of continuous sobriety. Frank was a dedicated and compassionate member of the Alcoholics Anonymous community. As an active AA sponsor and meeting leader, he generously shared his strength, hope, and experience, guiding countless individuals through the 12 Steps and offering a beacon of hope to those in need. Frank’s legacy of leadership, friendship, love for all, and service will live on through the many lives he touched both at home and around the world (GC!).
Beyond his work in the rooms, Frank was a passionate Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan and loved all dogs, especially boxers. He was also a talented musician, playing bass guitar with many bands throughout the years—Frank’s love for music never waned. He will be remembered by all for his infectious sense of humor, generous and loving spirit, and listening ear.
Frank is survived by his daughter Jennifer, his beloved mom Jean Donohue, sisters Jane Wykes (Tony) and Katherine Gibb (Rick), niece and nephews, and his cherished antique Mercedes affectionately named “The Frau”.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Frank’s memory to Hospice of the Chesapeake or Adopt a Boxer Rescue, PO Box 154, Olyphant, PA 18447.
