Eleanor Murphy's Obituary
Eleanor Stavitt Murphy was born on April 14, 1918 to Frank and Annie Stavetski in Glen Lyon, PA. At an early age, she moved to NYC to pursue a career in food research, primarily with Good Housekeeping magazine and Lipton Soups. On April 9, 1951, she married Thomas Aquinas Murphy, who passed away on November 7, 1978.
Eleanor’s primary interest was baking and she was a master at it. She also enjoyed dancing in her single years. She also enjoyed dancing in her single years. She didn’t take time for other interests, but focused on caring for her family and their home.
Eleanor is survived by 3 children: Sheila Norton, Michael Murphy, and Mary Anne Mancillas, as well as a granddaughter, Kate Norton. Eleanor’s four siblings are all deceased; her dearest sister just passed away in February.
A viewing will be held at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD on Friday, May 24th from 9-11am, with a memorial service at 10am. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA at 3pm.
