Eileen Barton Hogan's Obituary
After a battle with cancer, Eileen Barton Hogan, 63, died on Thursday, June 23 2011, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Eileen was born on July 19, 1947, in Kingston, NY. She is the daughter of the late Charles J. Barton and Rita Murphy Barton. Eileen grew up in Port Ewen, NY and for the last 30 years has resided in the Annapolis, MD, area. She attended the College of Notre Dame of Maryland where she earned a BA in Liberal Arts/English. She worked for the Arthritis Foundation and the National Federation of the Blind. She was an active member of the St. Andrews By the Bay Catholic Church community. She enjoyed politics, reading, classic movies, entertaining friends and family. Eileen is survived by her son Daniel Murphy Hogan, 24, of St. Petersburg, FL; mother Rita Barton of New Paltz, NY; sisters Peggy Barton of New York, NY; Marie Stevenson of Raleigh, NC; brothers Tom Barton and his wife Ann of Port Ewen, NY; Charles Barton and his wife Ginny of Rockledge, FL; Terry Barton and his wife Amy of New Paltz, NY; Richard Barton and his wife Debbie of Rifton, NY; and Steve Barton and his wife Cindy of Washington, IL; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A memorial Mass in celebration of Eileen’s life will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011, at 10 am at Presentation Catholic Church in Port Ewen, NY.
