Sorry for the lateness, but I didn't know of Ed's passing until I got a shocking phone call this past week from a fellow classmate.
Nancy and I want to express our deepest condolences to Teri and her family. I first met Ed (aka - Wal) when we joined the Naval Reserves in1966, and went together to Bootcamp in Great Lakes, IL, where he gave me my nickname the "Mouse" because I snuck fruit from the mess hall for him, and then it was onto shipboard training in Philadelphia, Naval Base. As was known, he loved to sing especially in the shower, and when he and I took a 3 hour shower to get out of night cleanup duty (his idea) while singing the Temptations song "MY Girl". Ed was certainly a special one of a kind as we became great friends over those past years as he was also my Best Man at our wedding. Nancy and I then introduced Ed to Teri whom he fell for immediately. We always had great times together when they lived in Elizabeth, PA. Ed was always the most interesting guy who lit up the room making us laugh each, and every time we were together. Especially while watching Steeler football games in the 70's, and eating Taste'e Doughnut Bakery Crawlers. Also, on our bus trip to Altoona, PA to see our Alma mater - The McKeesport Tigers Football Team win their first State Championship while sitting in the pouring cold rain. His dedication & devotion to his family, and dogs along with especially his faith to our Lord Jesus Christ. Ed was tough, resilient, and refused to quit despite of his serious medical issues. We loved him! We will greatly miss him, and we will pray for him, Teri, and his wonderful family! Love Jim (Mouse) & Nancy Bill
