Cynthia Renee Connolly's Obituary
Cynthia Renee Connolly, 52, passed away peacefully at her home in Severna Park, MD on July 27, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with breast cancer.
Cynthia was born in Baltimore, MD on March 23, 1971, the daughter of Michael Frank Fresty and Jean Marlene Fresty. Cynthia attended Severna Park High School, graduating in 1989, followed by a dedicated career in the Mortgage Title Industry and the National Security Agency with distinguished federal service to her country.
Cynthia and John married in September 2006 and lived in Catonsville, MD. Their daughter, Caitlin, was born in 2008. In 2013, they all moved to the United Kingdom (UK) together where they traveled and explored all over the UK and continental Europe and Cynthia made extensive life-long friends wherever she went during these times. In 2017, they returned from the UK and settled in Severna Park, MD and Cynthia became a full-time Mother.
She devoted her life to her daughter, Caitlin, providing endless love, support and care through her lifetime. She enjoyed doing ceramics, cooking, baking, crocheting, and was a voracious reader of mystery and romance novels. She also loved volunteering and working at the Providence Center to serve her local Severna Park community. Cynthia was a dedicated sports fan, cheering on her hometown Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles.
Cynthia’s smile would brighten up the room. Her laugh was contagious. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Aunt and Friend to all who knew her. She was taken from this world too soon but her spirit will live on in our hearts, minds, and prayers forever. She loved unconditionally and will be loved by all who knew her forever.
Cynthia is survived by her husband of 17 years, John Joseph, and daughter Caitlin Rose. She also leaves behind her parents Michael and Jean; her brother Charles Joseph (CJ) and his three children.
Per Cyndy’s wishes, services will be privately held and she will be interred at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, Anne Arundel County, MD on August 14, 2023. There will be a celebration of life ceremony in the near future to be announced where all will be welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Cynthia are invited to make a donation in her name to their local National Breast Cancer Foundation ( www.nationalbreastcancer.org ).
