Alan Russell Waldram Jr.'s Obituary
Alan R. Waldram, Jr. 41, of Severn, MD, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 as a result of brain cancer.
He was born August 4, 1969 in Boise, ID, the son of Russ and Kris Waldram of Thornton, CO. He graduated from Pueblo South High School, Colorado in 1987, University of Maryland, with a BA in Finance in 2000, and Norwich University with a Masters of Diplomacy in 2008.
Alan served as a language analyst in the US Navy from July 1990 until January 1997. He achieved the rank of First Class Petty Officer. He was stationed in many places during his time in the Navy, of most note were Pyongtaek, Korea; Kunia, Hawaii; and Fort Meade, Maryland. While serving, he earned three Navy Achievement Medals, a Joint Achievement Medal, and a Joint Commendation Medal. Alan continued his service for the Department of Defense as a civilian intelligence analyst until this March. During his service he provided important intelligence to national leaders.
In addition to his parents, Alan is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and his children Annika (age 7), Alexander (age 4), and Amelia (age 3) of Severn, MD and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours will be Saturday, April, 30, 2011 from 10AM-12PM at Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care, P.A. – 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD 21401. The funeral will be held directly after the visitation, at the funeral home. The services will conclude with an honorary procession to Crownsville Veterans Cemetery - 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032.
Interment and military honors will be conducted on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10:45AM at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
