Yvonne Thompson's Obituary
Yvonne Thompson, affectionately known as “Sookie,” passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born on October 4, 1947, in Shady Side, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Dorothy Foote.
Yvonne was educated in the Anne Arundel County Public School system. She later worked at Snug Harbor Inn, where her love of cooking and hospitality shone brightly. Known for her outspoken nature and heart of gold, Yvonne welcomed everyone with warmth and generosity. Her home was always open to family and friends, and her trusty cordless phone was never far from reach – ready for anyone who needed a listening ear.
She was first united in holy matrimony with the late Guy L. Brown, with whom she was blessed with two daughters. Later in life, she married the late Michael A. Thompson, and they were blessed to welcome a son into their lives.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Foote; her husbands, Guy L. Brown and Michael A.
