Woodrow Raymond Savoy's Obituary
Woodrow “Woodie” Raymond Savoy, was born to the late William “Billy” and Theresa “Mickey” Savoy on March 17, 1953, in Annapolis, Maryland. He was educated in the Anne Arundel County School System. Although Woodie received many certificates in Business Administration, he was a Laborer by trade.
Everyone who knew Woodie knows that he enjoyed life and loved to have a good time – he definitely did it his way! An avid Chess player, he also enjoyed watching Westerns, Oldies but Goodies music, especially his favorite, Elvis Presley. Family was very important to Woodie and he protected them at all costs. Many of you know that if you saw Woodie, his brother Wally wasn’t far behind.
Woodie was proceeded in death by his loving Parents, William R. Savoy Jr. and Theresa V. Savoy, Sisters Yvonne Murray and Sandra Savoy, his brother Anthony Savoy and granddaughter Shakilia Rogers.
To cherish his many memories are his children, Dianne Savoy Dorsey, La’Shonta Savoy, Shiray Howard (Tremaine), Padrone Savoy, Renae Savoy Young & Otto Savoy, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. We thank his special friend, Ms. Denise Raiford for her many years of dedication to our dad.
Woodie also leaves behind a number of siblings, Eunetta Campbell (Earl), Regina Savoy, Walter Savoy (Iris), Terraie Savoy, Marcia Lane (David), Theresa Savoy, Michael Savoy and William Savoy (Yvonne) and many, many nieces and nephews. As long as there are memories, he will forever remain with us.
