Willie E. Taylor Sr.'s Obituary
Willie Edward Taylor Sr. (Pop Pop), 77, of Annapolis, transcended from Earth to Glory May 8, 2011 after a brief illness at home. He was born March 11, 1934, to Late George E. and Della Mae Taylor of Mecklenburg County, VA where he received his education and later moved to Maryland to work with the State Highway. During the move, Willie met and fell in love with Agnes Wiseman and they married in 1956; from this Union 6 beautiful children were born.
Willie later became a professional Carpenter, building many homes in the Annapolis/Arundel on the Bay area. He had a great passion for his family and enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners, especially his famous corn pudding. :) He also enjoyed Wrestling; we thought he was a wrestler at one point; he would get so excited while watching we thought he was going through the TV set. He enjoyed racing with his son Jr. and two daughters Debra and Michelle. But let’s not forget his buddies Jimmy Nick, Oliver Jackson, John Wells, Mr. Matthews, Earl White and James and on……too many to name. He loved Gospel singing, having family gatherings, hunting, fellowshipping with Church Family and watching the Ravens and Redskins. Whichever team won was his team at that time. :) Willie became a member of Severna Park Church of God in 2000 and fellowship until his death.
He was such a Loving, Caring, Humble and Sincere man that everyone loved, and he loved laughing and making others smile. His house was your house, even if you weren’t a part of the family, but don’t ride on the grass. :) He enjoyed yard work and would not let anybody but himself cut his own grass. He went shopping with the girls every weekend if he wasn’t at a track with the boys.
Some of his favorite quotes include:
When he saw Debbie, “OH God, be quiet here she comes!” or “Look at Obese.” She was so much like her Dad in so many ways…..
Sharon was second Obese due to us weighing more than him at one point.
“Devil is a liar.” ~ Lonnie
“Deacon Travis God is Good! I believe I’m here for a reason.” ~ Travis
“Will you slow this truck down? Please, or take me back home. I’ll get out and walk.” ~Felecia

When watching racing, at a red light he would stand in the bleachers saying “What is he doing? Man out already.” ~Junior

He would say anything that came to his mind at the time of your presence.
