Willie Clifford Smith III's Obituary
On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, Willie C. Smith, III departed this life at his residence in Baltimore City, Maryland. Willie C. Smith, III was born on August 12, 1978 to Willie C. Smith, Jr and Susan M. Smith. Willie was educated in Prince George County Public Schools. Willie was preceded in death by his daughter, Alahna Smith and his grandfather Willie C. Smith, Sr. Willie was employed at Fidelity Investments as an IT Engineer, a job he loved.
Willie married Patricia Calhoun on September 26, 2014. Patricia’s family readily accepted Willie and adored him; as well as her children. His smile and laugh was infectious and his passion and love for family was just as breathtaking. Willie was a giver of love and he showed it in so many ways. Recently, Willie, along with other family members visited his grandmother in Montrose VA for Mother’s day. He was so excited about baking his first cake and could not wait to get it to his grandmother for Mother’s Day!
Willie had many struggles with his health that lead to frequent hospitalizations and downtime with work, but he never stopped putting forth the effort to “try”. Willie was focusing on entrepreneurship and had begun putting the wheels in motion to move forward with his business and was excited about the progress.
Willie was a huge fan of the Commanders (a.k.a. Redskins). Whenever you saw Willie, he was frequently in his team apparel was that big, “Willie smile”! He also enjoyed oldies music, cooking, dancing, and being amongst family. Willie was a Believer in Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. Recently, he joined Victory Christian Ministries International in Suitland, Maryland. He was an avid reader of the Bible and loved talking about God. He frequently participated in the family prayer every Monday; as well as family Bible study every Wednesday. He also loved children and enjoyed tutoring them in mathematics in his spare time.
We are all stories in the end, remembered by the adventures we had, the achievements we made and the people loved. Don’t cry because Willie is no longer with us, but smile because we had the opportunity to be blessed with Willie for 44 years.
