William Raymond Hopkins' Obituary
William Raymond Hopkins, my beloved husband left this earth after a brief, but difficult battle with cancer. A fighter until the end, he passed away on March 7, 2023 at the age of 68. Raymond requested a cremation and that his ashes be spread in one of our favorite spots. A celebration of life will be held, the date to be determined.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife Linda Henry, his sister Roxanna and brother James. He is predeceased by his parents William and Barbara Hopkins.
After graduating from high school, Raymond proudly served his country with his service in the Coast Guard and with a long career in the Federal government.
Raymond met his wife in high school and was married to her over 44 years. His love for her was endless and the bond between them unbreakable and he knew this to be the same from his wife. Raymond loved his wife more than anything but he also loved his family and friends. He enjoyed many things but to make people laugh, make them happy, that was truly one of his favorite things. The people who knew Raymond would agree that:
His smile brightened a room
His laugh was contagious
His eyes were captivating
His heart flowed with love
His easy-going style gave calmness
His support gave courage
A life with more to give
A life that was well lived
The family is grateful for your prayers, support, and kindness. Thank you.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a denotation on Raymond’s behalf to the National Park Foundation, the Maryland Food Bank, or a charity of your choice.
