William Roy Hilley's Obituary
William Roy Hilley of Edgewater, Maryland died at Perry Point Veterans Medical Center on Sunday January 29, 2012. He was 77.
Born in Anderson, South Carolina on August 26, 1934 he was the son of the late Henry Hilley and Grace Turner. He graduated from Boys High in 1952 and Furman University in 1963 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphics/Commercial Arts. Mr. Hilley served in the Army in both the 82nd & 101st Airborne Divisions. He worked in the Washington D.C. area most of his life as a graphic illustrator for different branches of the U. S. Government. He retired due to a medical condition in 1989.
Mr. Hilley was one of the decedents of the Revolutionary War and liked touring Civil War battlefields on the weekends. He loved to play the lottery and enjoyed playing golf, darts and was an avid reader.
He is predeceased by his brother the late Jerry Hilley of Anderson South Carolina. He is survived by his children Steve Hilley and his wife Darlene of Edgewater, Wendi Savage and her husband Randy of Arnold, Cindy Zamarripa of Edgewater; 11 grandchildren Daniel, Carie, Lorie, Nichoal, Derek, Mary, Ronald, Ryan, Amber, Jack and Kelly; 3 great grandchildren Riley, Brynne, Aubree; his sister Shelby Jean Hawkins of Anderson South Carolina.

Burial will follow at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1080 Sunrise Beach Road Crownsville, Maryland 20132.
