William "Bill" Crouse's Obituary
William “Bill” Ralph Crouse, 83, of Trout Run, passed away on March 5th, 2026 in Annapolis, MD, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 1st, 1942, in Williamsport, PA, he was a son of the late Nelson and Vesta (Wagner) Crouse. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1960 and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps from July 1960 - July 1964, when he was honorably discharged. He later earned an Associate’s Degree in computer science from Williamsport Area Community College in 1966.
Bill married his life partner Donna (Burrows) Crouse on April 30th, 1965, and the couple remained together for 57 years until Donna’s passing on June 2nd, 2022. He had a successful career with the Lamar Advertising Company and also tended bar at the family-owned Villa Restaurant and various clubs.
The Williamsport area was Bill’s home for his entire life, excluding his world travels with the Marines in the 1960s. He had many interests, including classic Hollywood films, music trivia (where he could not be beat), spending time outdoors (especially fly fishing and mowing his grass within an inch of its life), and golf – he proudly met pro golfer Craig “the Walrus” Stadler and kept photo evidence. He is remembered for his no-nonsense attitude, great head of hair, and formidably strong handshake.
Bill is survived by his two children, Stephanie Crouse and Matthew Crouse (Stacy); his brother, Donald Crouse (Carmella); sisters-in-law Patricia Jester (Thomas), Nancy Vassallo (Daniel), Sue Burrows, and Sandy Jansson; and brothers-in-law Philip (Nancy) Burrows and James Chestnut. Also remaining to cherish his memory are his five grandchildren, Oliver, Hannah, Eliza, and Pierce Geib, and Seth (Brooke) Doyal.
A memorial service to honor Bill’s life will be held in the coming months in Williamsport, PA, and is open to all friends and family who wish to celebrate his life.
