William J. Creighton Jr.'s Obituary
William James Creighton Jr. passed away peacefully at his Annapolis home on May 28. 2025.
Bill was born in Washington, DC on April 29,1950, the son of William J. Creighton, Sr. and Louise Jackson Creighton, while his father was attending George Washington University. He and his family eventually settled in Locust Valley, NY where Bill graduated from Locust Valley High School in 1968. He participated in football, wrestling, and track and field. He received a football scholarship to Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA, where he met his future wife, Kathy, while canoeing on the Perkiomen River. He graduated in 1972 and followed Kathy to Maryland, where he attended graduate school at the University of Maryland.
Bill began his career as a teacher of high school industrial arts, then went on to teach graphics and printing at Montgomery College, and then finally settled into the printing industry, eventually becoming the owner/operator of Daniels Printing in Crofton. His interests were many, with ham radio occupying much of his time after retirement in 2016. He also enjoyed weather-watching, night skies, photography, music, tinkering, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers. Many happy memories were made on the Severn River on the family boat, the Asylum.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Kathy; sister, Sally Creighton and her two sons Matt and Daniel Coulter of New Hampshire; daughters Liz Hebb (Mike) and Emily Verostic (Dave); son Jay (Tasha) and young grandsons Luke and Dylan Hebb; and Nash and Mac Verostic.
Cremation arrangements are by Lasting Tributes Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis MD 21401. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of his life on July 2, 2025 ,at the Severn Inn in Annapolis from noon to 4.
