Wayne Royshel Davis' Obituary
Wayne R. Davis of Riverdale, Maryland, passed away suddenly on December 3, 2025. Wayne was born in Danville, VA, on August 8, 1948, to the late Lee and Pauline G. Davis, whom he now joins in heavenly peace. At an early age, Wayne accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
Wayne spent his childhood and young adult life in Danville before moving to Maryland, where he enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing, listening to music, and dancing. Wayne was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Waynette Shellman. He loved his one son, Wayne Roysel Davis, Jr., who preceded him in death. He also cherished and loved her three granddaughters, Shardae, Simone, and Sydney Shellman, as well as one grandson who also preceded him in death, Sancio Maurice Shellman, Jr.
Wayne is survived by his brother, Jerome Neal of Newport News, VA, and his sister, DeCarlo “DeeDee” Smith of Chester, VA. Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers Clifton Henry Davis, who gave his life in service during the Vietnam War, William “Billy” Davis (Delores), and Michael Davis. Wayne is survived by three nephews, Shawn Ferrell of Danville, VA, LeShan Smith (Princess) of Chester, VA, and Tarrick Luck (Nicole) of Bowie, MD; and one niece, Bianca Hackett (Deonte) of Charlotte, NC.
Wayne now joins Cynthia I. Davis, who passed on November 26, 2025, in eternity, and a joint service will be held in their honor.
