Wayne F. Byrd's Obituary
After a long battle with lung cancer, Wayne Francis Byrd passed away peacefully on October 16, 2012 surrounded by his wife and family in his home in Heritage Harbor.
Wayne was born on January 22, 1936 in Temperanceville, Virginia; one of two sons of Francis and Ellen Byrd. Wayne had one brother William Byrd who preceded him in death. Wayne was a veteran of the Army and served overseas where he met his wife Andrina. They were married on June 22, 1960 and the two of them shared life and love for 52 years.
Wayne was a father of two children - Gary and Lisa - and grandfather ("Grumps") to 3 grandchildren - Amanda, Alexandra and Matthew. Wayne was a long-time resident of Anne Arundel County, having moved to Crofton in 1967 and then to Annapolis in 1987. He was a dedicated, self-employed CPA who diligently served his clients for over 40 years.
For many years, Wayne enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay and singing. Later in life he became an avid golfer and gardener. A private celebration of Wayne's life will be held for the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to Hospice of the Chesapeake, Philanthropy Department, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401 or online at www.hospicechesapeake.org or American Cancer Society www.cancer.org/involved/donate/otherwaystogive/donate-by-mail-or-phone
