Warren Ridgley Alton's Obituary
Warren Ridgley Alton, 77, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, Maryland departed this life on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 4:07 a.m. from a lengthy illness. He was born on October 17, 1939 to the late Ralph and Margaret Alton. He was a roofer with Alton’s Roofing until his retirement. He was an avid football fan, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, yard work, going on rides, watching old movies and loved spending time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, known as “Pop Pop”, who loved to make everyone laugh with his witty sense of humor. His favorite saying was “ain’t no sense in worrying, it’s gonna be what it’s gonna be. Wake up today and live for today.” He loved the Lord and listening to Christian and country music.
Warren was predeceased in death by his first wife, Sandra Settar, his parents, Ralph and Margaret Alton, his sister Marjorie Boswell, his brothers Robert, Ralph, John, Peter, Edward, Jackie and Albert. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Short-Alton, his daughters, Deanna Tice, Mildred “Peanut” Brown, Penny Robertson, Tammy Rigoli and Melissa Hall, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Warren’s life on Thursday, December 29th. Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, Maryland. Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.
