Walter Baumgart's Obituary
Walter Richard Baumgart, died peacefully January 14, at Anne Arundel Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends.
Walter was born in Tulsa, OK on October 5, 1964 to parents Richard and Barbara Baumgart of Roswell, NM. He enjoyed boating, watersports, cooking and entertaining friends.
He formerly managed the Annapolis City Marina and the Ice Arena at Annapolis Naval Academy. While living in Amsterdam, he obtained his solo private pilots license. He loved animals, particularly his loyal canine friend, "Hank Von Hank."
Walter was preceded in death by his lifelong partner, Greg Maxey.
Walter is survived by his parents; sisters: Janice Baumgart Cunningham of Harlingen, TX, Janet Schenk and husband Joel of Keller, TX, and Jana Baumgart McNally of Minneola, FL; brothers: Brad Maxey of Celina, TX and Lance Maxey and wife Lori of Norman, OK; nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Patrick, Jon, Matthew Cunningham, Justin and Jamie Schenk, Chad, Vegas, Cole, Alex, Isabella and Kristen Maxey; mother in law Sue Maxey Christmann of Tulsa, OK; and uncle Dan Johnson of Tulsa, OK.
A Remembrance Tribute will be held between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care, P.A. 814 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment is private.
