Tyrone Morris Savoy's Obituary
Tyrone was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to parents, James K. Savoy and Madeline B. Simms on February 22, 1955. On June 6, 2025 Tyrone fell asleep in death at BWMC. Tyrone was a young 70 years old. He was proceeded in death by both parents and grandparents; brothers; Nathaniel (Nappy) Savoy and Wilber (Caveman) Fuller, and nephew, Kenneth (KK) Savoy.
Tyrone received his education in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system. He grew up in the Annapolis area, living in Newtowne, where many knew him well. He moved to Pasadena, Maryland to settle into a quieter area, well suited for his milder personality, focusing on deepening his love for Bible truths. He married Bernadette Cormier Douglas on August 29, 1998, with whom he lived with until his passing.
Tyrone worked for American Security Storage/United Van Lines for more than 30 years, until the day he suffered a cardiac arrest while at work. He was a very hard worker, and known for his sternness and getting the job done efficiently. Tyrone proved to be a great mentor, many of those who worked with him became CDL drivers as well. They spoke highly of how he patiently explained and demonstrated proper techniques to work smartly. He was a father figure to some, providing them clear direction in how to succeed in their life course by working hard. His oldest son, LaTrell and grandsons, Tyious and Kyrie have also become CDL drivers... the love of driving runs deep in the family! Tyrone loved driving, but also riding and after his cardia arrest, would settle in and "chill" enjoying even the short rides.
Tyrone developed a deep love for Bible truths, and began a serious study with Edward Green and Donald Adwell, dedicating his life to Jehovah, and was baptized as one of Jehovah Witnesses on July 20,1996 at Veterans Stadium in Pennsylvania. He enjoyed sharing Bible truths with all he met, and in the door-to-door ministry.
Tyrone was able to listen to weekly meetings at the local kingdom Hall, and nightly Bible reading through two groups, even participating by commenting on a scripture he enjoyed.
Tyrone had a special hobby of racing RC (remote control) gas cars on special tracks designed for those small cars. He built from scratch, carefully selecting the engine and body parts, painting the, then running them at competitions; and winning trophies while doing so. He shared this hobby with youngest son, Shamar, who grew very skilled at driving, winning many of his own trophies.
Tyrone's personality endeared him to so many! He even had nicknames bestowed upon him, "Reds", "Beast", and "TenderRoni" or "Tender", being just a few! He had many hospital visits and many who cared for him became very fond of him and took great care of him. His Aides would comment how spoiled he was, but they too would give him that extra attention and care! His Cardiologist would always comment how well dressed he was, down to his shoes and he loved hearing it, even blushing. She would tell him to tell his wife to give him his favorite meal of steak and potatoes , until his weight started creeping up... she then had to tell him steak's okay but hold the potatoes! He enjoyed the banter!
Tyrone's memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 27 years/caregiver of 20 years, Bernadette; his children; Latrell Savoy, (Jennifer "Jen") of Florida; Alyia Johnson (Jefferey) of Baltimore, Maryland; Danyell Savoy-Pindell (Jason) of Baltimore, Maryland); Shamar Savoy of California; Letitia "Tisha" Lewis (Wayne); Dianna Aye, of Annapolis, Maryland; 16 grandchildren and15 great-grandchildren, 1 brother; James Savoy (Kimberly) of Howard County, 5 sisters; Renee Baker of Pasadena, Maryland; Gresilda Collins (Keith) of Annapolis, Maryland; Phyllis Makell-Fields (Larry) of South Carolina; Stacey Makell of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Alethia Reed (George) of Annapolis, Maryland, 5 brothers-in-law; Iris (P-Nut) Cormier of Annapolis, Maryland; Andre Martin Cormier of Hawaii; Ricardo Martin Cormier of California; Nathan Cormier of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Sean Cormier of Maryland, 4 sisters-in-law; Yolanda Cormier of Pasadena, Maryland; Yvette Cormier of New Jersey; Michele Cormier-Parker of Florida; Rhonda Cormier of New Jersey, 1 aunt, Eleanor Simms of Annapolis, Maryland, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends; in addition to his large spiritual family.
