Timothy "Tim" John Motyka's Obituary
Timothy Motyka, 68, of Gambrills, Md., passed away on January 29, 2024.
Tim was born to Jack and Eleanor Motyka on March 11, 1955. After Tim graduated from Chautauqua Central High School in New York, he studied electrical engineering at Virginia Tech, leading to an engineering position with Northrop Grumman in Maryland.
Tim worked at Northrop Grumman for 45 years on digital signal processing for radar systems. He loved his job and was well-respected by his co-workers. One states, “Tim had a huge impact at Northrop Grumman. Over his 40+ year career here, Tim has consistently been a leader in developing new technology to solve our hardest problems. His creativity, leadership, innovation, and strong work ethic were evident to everyone on his many teams. Tim has directly impacted many of our critical systems that are continuing to keep our soldiers and nation safe”. Tim was also a huge sports fan, cheering on the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles with his friends.
Tim was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Eleanor, his brother, Mike Motyka, and his sister, Susan Yambor. He is survived by his sister, Kathy (Jon) Sorkin, and his brother, Tony Motyka.
A Celebration of Life, to be held in Ohio, is still being planned at this time.
