Thomas Reeves Stovall's Obituary
Thomas Reeves Stovall, born September 8, 1938 died March 6, 2017. These are merely statistics that do not adequately describe his life among us.
Tom was born in New York City. He was the oldest of two children born to Alton Stovall and Beulah Sue Moton. When he was four years old they moved to Baltimore. In 1956 he met his loving wife, Patricia Margaret Kuyawa at a high school dance, and they married in 1957. Tom enlisted in the Army in 1956, and was stationed in Africa for two years. While stationed in Africa, his first child was born. He wanted to name her Patricia after his wife, Pat, and call her Tricia. He returned home to his wife and baby when she was 14 months old.
He went to work at NSA in 1959, where he worked until retirement in 1993. Their second child Donna, was born in 1961 and in 1969 their son Thomas joined the family. Also that same year they moved to Millersville.
Tom loved to fish, enjoying many fishing vacations with friends, and also with his wife over their many years together. He enjoyed skiing every winter, sitting in their screened in porch in the back of their home, enjoying all of their many flowers that he and his wife planted every spring,. He also enjoyed the outside, their in ground pool, spending time with his family, cousins, and many friends, watching sports, Sci-Fi movies and listening to music.
Tom loved his family. His family was the most important thing in his life. He lived by example. He was his family's strength. His legacy is measured by his strength, honesty, his hard work, his values, his respect for others, and his dedication to his family. He has said to daughters and granddaughters that he has six special women in his life, that ultimately came from the love that he and his wife have for each other. They have never ending love. Tom's (Pop Pop-ism) every choice "we make will have some effect." He may have left us behind, but his spirit will live in our hearts forever. He will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his loving wife, Tom is survived by his children, Tricia Langyher (Larry), Donna Steinberg (Larry), Thomas G. Stovall, his sister Diane Grimen; his granddaughters: Melisa G. Pascal (Ben), Christina Howland, Rebecca Morrison (Patrick), Rachel Steinbeg and a loving mother-in-law, Gertrude Kuyawa.
