Surrounded by his family and holding the hands of his three daughters, Thomas Edward Riggin of Glen Burnie passed away on Sunday, January 6th at the age of 87. Known and loved by many, Tom was always one to give and help others wh Read Obituary
My path crossed with Tom's only occasionally over the years, at Riggin family gatherings that I had the privilege to attend. He was the uncle of my wife Kathleen, who preceded him in death by a few months. Kathleen loved Tommy, and would have been terribly saddened at his passage.
I always enjoyed catching up with Tom -- his good-natured teasing (making sure I was taking proper care of his niece!) always made our time together special. He was a fine, loving gentleman. If there's a heaven, I sure he and Kathleen and are now sharing a smile and a hug.I will miss him.

Dear Riggin family,
While Tom wouldn't have known who I was, I knew you he was! Besides delighting us with donuts, I remember thanking him at ALA for sharing exhibits passes with us at Howard County Library.
What a blessing he was and how much he enjoyed life!

To the beloved family of Tom Riggin,
I have fond memories of Tom from his work with Baker & Taylor when he visited the libraries where I worked In the selection and acquisition departments. He always brought us doughnuts and we shared stories of love for our pets and the little critters that visit our backyard feeders. I will always think of him with a twinkle in his eye and his love of his career selling books and library services. What could be better than that?
I am sorry for your loss. Please know that Tom touched many lives and we will all remember him with great affection.
Take care,
Lynn Stonesifer (former Supervisor of the Collection Management Department at the Enoch Pratt Free Library)
Thomas you have been a true friend to Greg Keller and I for many years. Time shared at your house and with family members shall be memories that will be a permanent part of our lives. Thank you we love you Tom and you will be missed in our lives and heart.
My dear friend and mentor Thomas, I have been blessed to have known you personally for over 25 years and have been a better man for having walked, talked and worked with you. You have shown and taught me what true friendship and Love really mean. No words can ever truly describe what our time and memories together have meant to me. I will always remember our trips to the many auctions, book and coin stores, singers and claw machines. The looks on the children eyes when we win a stuffed animal and you give it to the child and then engage into a conversation with the parents instantly developing another new friendship. Tom was a man that always had a genuine love and interest of the people he met. Many of his friedships were life long as ours was. Thank you Tom for your friendship, love, the many many stories you shared with me, all the bread broken together, the amazing amount of knowledge you have given, and most of all, the time, love and guidance you have shown me. You have changed my life for the better as you have changed many lives for the better. You are now in Heaven with God and we will see each other again to continue our friendship. Thank you and I love you Tom.
