Thomas Norman Daymont's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Norman Daymont. He died on May 6, 2026, at 80 years of age, from Lewy body dementia. He was at home in Severna Park, Maryland, surrounded by loved ones.
Tom was raised in Clinton, New York. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea. He was a professor of human resource management at Temple University for many years, where his research focused on racial discrimination in employment.
Tom was an avid and skilled golfer from a young age. He played with (and beat) many friends over the years and won multiple club championships. He was a brilliant man who loved a friendly debate. But, above all, he was a loving and deeply supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Dorothy, and his first wife, Ellen. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; his children, Josh (Alida), Carrie (Patrick), and Molly (Sean); and his five grandchildren, Natalie, Julia, Logan, Lily, and Eleigh. He is also survived by his siblings, Dick, Judy, and Cindy. He was preceded in death by his stepson Jimmy and is survived by his stepson Rusty and step-grandchildren Mackenzie, Jess, Dustin, and Nikki. He leaves behind many other beloved family members and friends.
A memorial service and reception will be held on Sunday, May 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the community room at McKinsey Park Condominiums, 602 McKinsey Park Drive, Severna Park, MD. Donations in honor of Tom may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (https://lbda.org).
