Tom was my supervisor when I first join the IT group at the Comptroller's Office. He was a very good mentor, he taught me so many tips and tricks. Even when he retired and he came back as a consultant he was still the first person I would ask about some of the more complicated jobs we have. And he would patiently show me what needed to be done.
It was always a breath of fresh air to know that he was back working with us for a few months before he signs off for a while to go sailing somewhere down south. And then I look forward to seeing him again the next year.
I prayed hard for him when he first had cancer and even during the next one. That was how much I held him in highest regard. When he decided to finally retire, i felt sad because I wouldn't see him again. (For his last stint at the Comp, he was even my cubicle-mate.)
I will now miss him so much more... But I continue to pray for him and that he rests in glorious peace together with his maker. To Debbie, my sincerest condolences and may the Lord cradle you in His warm arms during this time.
Rest in peace, my dear teacher...
