Thomas William Brogan Sr.'s Obituary
In loving memory of our dear father, Thomas William Brogan, Sr. He passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in hospice care in Anne Arundel County, MD. He leaves behind daughter, Bonnie Ann Brogan-Weed, son, Thomas William Brogan, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Shannon Hoover; grandchildren: Ashley Brogan, Joshua Adam Weed and Sarah Elizabeth Weed; two great-grandsons, Trenton Patrick Weed and Maxwell Carter Weed. All of us will miss him greatly!
Tom was an employee at Westinghouse Corporation which was eventually bought out by Northrop Grumman. He retired with 40 years of service in the electrical engineering field. Tom had a BS degree in engineering and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1966. Tom was a Baltimore, MD native his whole life and was an avid Baltimore Colts fan, Ravens fan and loved the Baltimore Orioles. Tom also attended Poly Tech Institute HS on Calvert Street prior to excepting his scholarship to the University of MD. Tom was a gifted football player in his high school days and was awarded the "Unsung Hero" award and "Rookie of the Year" in 1962.
Tom was a true Irish Catholic and loved his heritage. He attended Mass regularly and was a member of St. Andrew on the Bay Catholic Church in Cape St. Claire. Tom also enjoyed traveling and living in Venice, FL and MD with his late wife Barbara W. Brogan, who perished in December 2021. Tom was also a member of the Elks Club in Broadneck, MD. He attended functions there on a regular basis.
Tom was an amazing father and person to us all, with a dashing smile and an outstanding personality. We love you, dad. May you go now and rest in peace with our Lord and Savior in heaven with all our family members who have preceded you. We will never forget you! You will remain in our hearts forever. God Bless you and all of us during this difficult time.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis MD 21401 from 4-7 pm. A service will immediately follow at 7 pm.
