Thomas Henry Baker Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Baker passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Centreville, MD at the age of 90. Mr. Baker was born in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania on May 23rd, 1936, to Harry Penrose Baker, Sr. and Elizabeth May Baker (nee Poeth). Mr. Baker was the youngest of seven children. The Baker family moved to Severna Park in the 1940’s. Mr. Baker graduated from Annapolis Senior High School, class of 1955.
Mr. Baker retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric in 1994 and finally Chesapeake Environmental Water Treatment company after 17 years in 2014. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and most of all being with his family. One of Tom’s greatest loves was his love of fishing and bicycling for miles at a time.
Mr. Baker served in the Army National Guard of Maryland for 39+ years and retired in 1996 as an E-9 Command Sargeant Major. Mr. Baker was a past Master of the Free and Accepted Masons of Maryland Amos Lodge number #226 and was a current member of Centreville Masonic Lodge number #180.
Surviving Mr. Baker is his wife Patricia Gaye Baker (nee Williams) of 56 years, two sons Thomas H. Baker, Jr (Mark) of New Durham, New Hampshire and Mark Baker of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania and Donna Lee Tramble (Rick) of Marietta, Georgia. In addition, surviving Mr. Baker are three granddaughters, five grandsons, four great grandsons and three great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Baker is predeceased in life by his parents Harry and Elizabeth, brothers Harry P Jr., Robert J. and Donald E., and sister Jane Swank, Margaret Sholly and Sally Jennings. Mr. Baker is also predeceased in life by his infant son, Timothy Howard Baker, who was born and died in 1959 and eldest daughter Dianna Lynn Conway previously of Sarasota, Florida.

Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the favorite organization of one’s individual choice.
