Theodore Mason Gray, Jr.'s Obituary
Theodore Mason Gray Jr, age 61, went to his eternal resting place while under the care of Luminess Health Medical Center in Annapolis MD on October 17th, 2023.
Theo was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Theodore Mason Gray Sr. and Annie Rebecca (Forrester) Gray. Theo received his education at Southern Senior High School and South River Vocational School where he mastered the art of welding. Mastering this trade led to Theo’s 15-year career with the City of Annapolis as a Mason II. until his retirement in 2015. Theo also worked with A.A.CO Board of Education Public School Systems which allowed Theo to do what he loved most. Stripping, waxing tile, staining hardwood floors, carpet cleaning and steaming. He took so much pride in this trade that he started his own business named Mr. & Mrs. T&S Professional Floor Service.
Theo met the love of his life, Schwanda U. Smith, on June 15th, 1993. This was the start of a beautiful 30-year union. They went before God and vowed eternity to each other on October 20th, 2007. This year marked 16 years of blissful and most joyous marriage.
Theo enjoyed hobbies such as admiring classic cars, watching westerns, NFL events especially the Washington Redskins, playing slots, along with spending quality time with family and friends at gatherings such as cookouts, dinners, or just sitting under the tree listening to old-school music and singing karaoke.
Theo was preceded in death by his Father Theodore Mason Gray Sr., Mother Annie R. Gray. Grandparents William B. Gray, Catherine Thompson, Thomas Forrester, Mary Forrester-Barnett. Aunt Rosetta Forrester, Uncle George Forrester. Father-in-law Larry L. Smith Sr. and Brother-in-law Larry L. Smith Jr.
Theo is survived by his forever loving and devoted wife Schwanda Smith-Gray.
Children; Theodore Gray III, Bonus Son Quan E. Johnson.
Grandchildren; Theo, Kianna, Tayla, Kia-Juan, Angel, Zienieah, Aidyn, Xzavier, Kameron, Sarah, Samara. Great Grandchild Zanjan Gray.
Aunts Mary Turner (Robert), Carrie Allen (Darryl).
Siblings Shirley Stepney (John), Sandra Gray, Thomas Gray (Corey), Mary Savoy (William), Kevin Gray. Mother-in-law Barbara A. Tasker. Sister-in-laws: Barbara J. Beamon, Sandra Griffin (Maurice) and Rosie L. Neely (Andre). Bonus sisters Latresha Weems, Damika Weems Wesley (Robert) and Tracey Fowlkes (Denard).
God Children; Danielle (Duck) Trayvon, Auhnya (Noodles) Ayden, Ayesha. Along with a host of niece’s nephews, cousins and special friends who all held a special place in his heart.
