Taron Demerio Upchurch's Obituary
Taron Demerio Upchurch, age 52, was born on May 14, 1973, to the late Felecia Taylor- Tongue and Henry Upchurch. On April 10, 2026, Taron peacefully gained his wings after a long illness as family and friends were by his side.
Taron, popularly known as “Booza”, attended and graduated from the Anne Arundel County School Systems. His passion for working on cars and drag racing developed at a young age inspired by watching his grandfather and uncles. Following his passion, he went on to study Auto Mechanics at a vocational school which motivated him to build his own car. He held various jobs over the years before dedicating more than 20 years of service to Koons Toyota of Annapolis as a mechanic. Taron had a genuine love for his career and found joy in what he did each day. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, attending car, sound and bowling competitions and installing car stereos. You always heard him coming before you seen him. His mother would always tell him “Booza, if you don’t turn that music down.” Taron was proud to be a member of the Wolf Pack, a club where he found excitement and joy behind the wheel. Drag racing was something he genuinely loved and was very passionate about and he drove for several car owners like Victor Watkins (night crawlers), Karl Johnson, Mark Taylor and his uncle Willie Taylor Jr. He will be remembered for his humor, playful pranks, and the joy brought to his family and friends. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, creating memories that will never be forgotten. Taron has taken his final ride home to heaven, a journey we know he made with the same passion and spirit he carried in life.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Felecia Ann Tongue, maternal grandparents; Agnes V. Taylor and Willie E. Taylor, paternal grandparents, Christine M. Henson and Roland George Henson; and aunt, Mary MeGhee.
