Sylvia Annette Lohr's Obituary
Sylvia Annette Lohr, 83, passed away at her home on January 24, 2023. Sylvia was born on January 20, 1940, in Ballston, Virginia to parents Roy and Violet Lohr. She is predeceased by her loving wife of 28 years, Margaret Kay “Katie” Harris. She is survived by her brother, Richard (Lisa) Larrick; nieces: Deirdre (Melanie) Larrick, Melissa (Trent) Tisinger of Virginia, Katie (Greg) Marvin and their daughter Taylor; niece, Elizabeth A. Foltz of West Virginia, and Nameeta of Virginia; sister-in-law, Alice (Robert) Smith of The Woodlands, Texas; three nieces-in-law: Melissa Kay (Lance), Carrie (Garett) of Texas; and Meredith (Michael) and nephew-in-law Kris (Kourtney) of Georgia. Sylvia is also survived by her godson, Brooks Joseph Dana-Evans, seven years old, of whom she was so proud to be his godmother.
Sylvia graduated high school in Fairfax, Virginia, then went on to work for Bell Telephone Company for over 35 years until her retirement. Sylvia and her wife, Katie, were active members of the very loving parish of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Annapolis. Sylvia participated in St. Anne’s outreach for the after-school tutoring program at the Stanton Center, where she tutored for over 15 years. She was also an active member of the Clay Street Christmas Project, which she eventually helped redesign to become the Winter Gear Drive for the Annapolis Elementary School children. Sylvia and Katie were married in 2013 in the Annapolis Courthouse. After their marriage a ceremony of blessing of their marriage was held at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church. Sylvia will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Annapolis on Saturday, March 11th at 1pm.
Interment will follow immediately in the All Saints Memorial Garden
