Susan Lind's Obituary
Susan Toner Lind, of Crownsville, MD passed away on July 19, 2013 in the comfort of her home due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 71.
Susan was born in Oahu, Hawaii on September 1, 1941, the first of seven children. She was raised in the Boston area and graduated from Weston High School. She attended Trinity College in Washington, DC majoring in French, with minors in German and Political Science.
She took her skills in languages to the National Security Agency where she was a linguist for 5 years. After leaving the workforce to be a full-time mom for her three children during their formative years, Susan went back to school. She received her Associate’s Degree in accounting and worked as a CPA in the public sector and several investment firms to include Legg Mason, Alex Brown, and later Deutsche Bank in Baltimore. After retirement, she was a CASA and Cancer Society volunteer.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents: James Vincent Toner, Jr., and Martha Mary Connelly Toner. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James; two sons: Christopher and Eric; one daughter: Angela; five grandchildren; sisters: Paula Toner, Carol Dolan, and Eileen Petre; and brothers: James, Michael, and Stephen Toner.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 11am-1pm at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD 21401. A service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave, 7th floor, New York, NY 10001, or online at www.alzfnd.org.
