Stephen Ernest Nasella's Obituary
Stephen Ernest Nasella, affectionately known as Pop, passed peacefully at home on April 4, 2024. Born in Washington, DC, on May 26, 1953, to James A. Nasella, Sr. and Elieen B. Nasella.
Steve was a very hard worker, joining the American Bakery and Confectionery Workers’ International Union, Local 118, in his early 20s. Steve was employed at the Safeway Bakery plant in Lanham, MD for most of his career. Steve also worked part time at Schreiber’s Country Store and 7-11. Among many of his favorite hobbies, Steve enjoyed fishing, crabbing, horseshoes, cornhole, attending to his impeccably kempt yard, and spending time with family.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cindy Magruder, brothers Edward Nasella, James Nasella, Jr, Thomas Nasella, and sister Sharon Hignite.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Brenda Nasella, children Penny Barahona, Cheryle Hunter (Terry), Toni Wright, Janie Wright, and Michael Nasella (Kimberly). Steve is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family will hold a Celebration of Life on April 20, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 2002 Nantucket Drive, Waldorf, MD 20602. Friends are welcome to attend.
