Stephen A Mattingly's Obituary
Stephen Augustine Mattingly passed away on July 4, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family. He was 57 years old.
Stephen was born on February 22, 1964 and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Veronica Mattingly in a small town called Avenue, Maryland.
In his early years, he attended school at Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy in Leonardtown. He played football there and grew to love the sport and liked to watch the Redskins play. He later went to Chopticon High School in Mechanicsville where he received his diploma.
After his formal schooling, Steve wore many hats and tried his hand at heating and cooling for a while, he was an Assistant Manager at Walmart in New Jersey for a time and finally transferred to being an Auto Advisor and Service Writer at Pep Boys here in Annapolis.
In his free time, he just loved to be surrounded by his family and friends, spending his time with them, sharing stories and there was always music playing!
Stephen is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents whom he loved and who took care of him and his Stepfather, Harold Williamson, who was also a big part of his life.
He is survived by Olivia Williamson, his loving mother who resides in Maryland, his father Raymond King who resides in South Carolina, his 7 half siblings and a host of other dedicated family members who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care on August 19, 2021, in Annapolis, MD from 3-4pm with a visitation to be held an hour prior for friends and family to celebrate his life lived.
