Shirley Temple Guy's Obituary
Shirley Temple Guy, a resident of Ponder Cove since 1964 was born and raised in Washington, D.C. on February 4, 1935 and passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She attended Eastern High School in D.C. and worked as a bookkeeper at National Capital Bank on Capitol Hill. She married the late Edwin B. Guy in 1964 and moved to Ponder Cove. She worked at Stewarts Care Home as a caregiver for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin; son, Michael; and granddaughter, Ashley O’Riordan; parents, Frank and Helen James; her brothers, Jack of North Carolina and Ray of La Plata, MD. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Lynn; sons, Warren J. and Bill L.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and brother Henry. She is a member of Mayo UMC and had been a volunteer at Parkwood UMC Thrift Shop for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children’s National Hospital or Ronald McDonald Home of D.C. A memorial service will be held at Mayo UMC at a future date.
