Sheila Mae Jones departed this earth on June 20, 2024. Born November 21, 1946, Sheila lived a life full of love, creativity, and joy.
Sheila was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her passion for the arts was evident in her hobbies, which included drawing, painting, and writing. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Sheila was a dedi- cated childcare provider, a role that she excelled in and that brought her much fulfillment.
Sheila's artistic talents were a source of immense joy and inspiration. Her visits to museums and immersion in the world of creativity were testaments to her passion. Her creative endeavors brought beauty and inspiration to all who knew her. We will genuinely miss the beautiful cards she sent out on special occasions.
Sheila's love for her family was endless. Every moment spent with her loved ones was a treasure. Her grandchildren, the light of her life, were her constant companions in walks, outdoor adventures, and learning experienc- es. Sheila's absence will be deeply felt, a testament to her profound impact on her family and the void she leaves behind.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert "Bob" Jones and Annie Frances Thompson Jones, Joyce Morris (Sister), Leon Jones (Brother), her beloved son Kenneth Jones, and grandson John Watts. She leaves behind eight siblings: Barbara (Glenwood) Morgan, Mary Jeffer- son, Linda Marion, James Jones, David Jones, Brenda (LaRosa) Johnson, Frank (Francis) Jones, and Doris Jones. She also leaves behind three loving children, Margaret Jones, Kevin Jones, and John Watts, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren: Jerome Sr. (Larraine), Demetrice (Sharron), Sandria, Wesley, Trevon, Kenneth Jr., DaReshia, Maxine, Kevin Jr., Melissa, Matthew, Vincent, Kevon, and Jhane'e. She also leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren Chasity, Jerome Jr., Jeremiah, Jacob, Janiah, Jayla, Xavier, Alexander Jr., Hazel, Jeremiah, Venus, Kahamari, and Zyier, along with a host of special friends, including Vernettia, Katherine, May Jackson, and Carolyn Brown. Her gentle spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her absence is deeply felt, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those she left behind.
