Sharon Ruth Manganello's Obituary
Sharon Ruth Manganello, 75, passed away peacefully and in the presence of family on November 1st, 2023 in Annapolis, Maryland.
Sharon was born in 1948 to parents Ruth Hutchins Klinedienst (nee Hemingway) and Kenneth Martin Klinedienst in Bridgeport, Connecticut. As a child Sharon enjoyed summers with extended family visiting the family farm, and traveling to Maine and Cape Cod. She always spoke fondly of her grandparents' camper trailer. She attended Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, Connecticut and after graduation went on to complete a nursing program at the Grace-New Haven School of Nursing, beginning a lengthy career in nursing. Sharon also went on to complete a Nurse Practitioner program at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Sharon met her husband Anthony Manganello in Washington, D.C. where she was working as a nurse at a local hospital. They were married in 1984 and settled into the family home in Annapolis, Maryland to raise their two daughters, Natale and Camille.
Sharon was a compassionate and empathetic Women's Health clinician, working as a Nurse Practitioner at health clinics in underserved neighborhoods in Washington D.C. and University Campus Health Clinics in Maryland before completing her nursing career at Women's OB/GYN of Annapolis. She was an avid cook and took great pleasure hosting friends and family at every holiday meal. She was also a lifelong animal lover, serving as assistant mother to two litters of Brittany Spaniel puppies and two litters of kittens as well as being adopted by numerous strays and rescues over the years that, one way or another, found their way to her doorstep and into her heart. Later in life, Sharon became a skilled lapidarist, joining the Patuxent Lapidary Guild in Annapolis, and sold her jewelry at juried art shows throughout Maryland. Sharon had the opportunity over her lifetime to travel the world, but France, and Paris in particular, was always the country that called most to her, and became a repeat destination.
Sharon is survived by her husband Anthony Manganello; their eldest daughter Natale; youngest daughter Camille and son in-law Jason Jericho, and granddaughter Tallulah Jericho, as well as other loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lasting Tributes Funeral Home, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis on December 16th, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
