I grew-up in the same neighborhood as Sebastisn residing just three houses down from him. Sebs was several years older than me, but same age as my brother. They were friends during elementary and middle school. Anyone blessed to have a sibling knows that younger brothers and sisters always want to hang out with their older sibling(s). Since I was so much younger I rarely got the chance to tag along however I was always on the peripheral trying to get as close to the action as possible. This is how I became exposed to Sebastian. He probably never gave it much thought but I always enjoyed being around Sebs when he was hanging out with my brother. The first thing that comes to mind was Sebs sense of humor; I recall him having a unique sense of humor. Next thing I recall was Sebs natural ability to lead. People tended to gravitate towards him. Third thing I recall was his sister and his father, Ray Cross (may be rest in peace). His sister was very cool and had much going for her. His father enjoyed taking daily walks around our neighborhood and would always say hi to me. Even when I was a toddler, Ray Cross was a kind and thoughtful neighbor. Most parents and kids in our neighborhood formed their own little social groups, rarely acknowledging anyone outside the circle. Like most kids Sebs had a tight crew of friends (such as Jason Stone, Josh Goodstat, Foster, Steve Sclafani, John Loveless) from the neighborhood, yet he didn't let that prevent him from meeting new people making them feel welcome. My memory of Sebs is of him smiling and ready to enjoy life. The world needs more people with that mentality, character, and uniqueness of personality. There will never be another Sebs, may be rest in peace.
