Scott Andrew Jones' Obituary
Scott Andrew Jones was born to Russell and Ellen Jones on Tuesday, May 26th, 1987. Scott was active in Boy Scouts of America, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and several local punk bands throughout their High School and College career. Scott graduated from Broadneck Sr. High School in 2005 Summa Cum Laude, and went on to graduate from Ursinus College with honors in 2009 with Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science and Math. Scott had a gift with music, and was able to play any instrument picked up including clarinet, trumpet, trombone, bass guitar, and also on occasion, drums. In High School, Scott was a member of a band called Quazimodo and the Hunch, who would play at local spots such as Manhattan Beach Club and Woods Community Church. Scott held a job in Baltimore at Charm City Art Space booking bands to play on the weekends. Scott’s favorite genres were underground punk and ska. Scott’s love of music was not limited to playing on stage. Some say they were happiest attending live punk shows surrounded by friends and strangers alike. They truly loved the punk scene in a way that was infectious to those around them, rallying friends to follow bands across state lines or simply just to share their enjoyment of a newly released record. To those both on and off the stage they leave memories, good cheer, a great sense of humor, and a warm heart. Scott worked with several breweries canning their beer including Heavy Seas, Charm City Mead Works, Manayunk, Calvert Brewing, Jailbreak, and Monument City. Scott is survived by their parents Russell and Ellen Jones; their companion, Jen Steinfeld; their sister and brother-in-law Emily and Andrew Kelley; and their niece, Jayden Bofrone. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Scott’s name in check or money order made out to Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency, Inc. PO Box 6675 MS3230 Annapolis, MD 21401. For further information about this agency, please call 410-222-7858. For anyone who wishes to pay their respects, memorial services will be held at 10 am on Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at Lasting Tributes. 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401.
