Ruth Naomi Stanley's Obituary
Ruth Naomi Stanley, the daughter of the late Elder Clinton Jones and Reba Stanley Jones was born on July 18, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland. Ruth, who was affectionately known as Mama, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
Mama, who spent her life in the city of Baltimore, received her high school diploma from the Baltimore City school system. As a young woman, she worked as a housekeeper and was later employed as a bookkeeper for James Hollands Contractors, where she later retired.
A God loving woman, Mama accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior on May 10, 1933 during morning worship at First Apostolic Faith Church. She was outspoken, spirited, adventurous, funny, and witty to the very end. She was a firm but loving woman who was never known to hesitate to speak her mind.
Mama leaves us to join, not only her heavenly Father, but also her late son Sidney S. Stanley, and her life long companion, William James Holland. She leaves to cherish her love and her memories, two daughters: Reba Washington and Rene Hill; one step-daughter: Elizabeth Holland; one song: Sidney Holland; one daughter-in-law: Bernia Stanley; grandchildren: Sidney, Tammy, Arneta, Tiny, Sonji, Terry, Angel, Yaya, Sidney, Kitten, Stevie, Candy, Christ, Donnie, and Tasha; thirty great-grandchildren, and nine great great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 between the hours of 10:00 am and 11:00 am at Created For So Much More Worship Center, 701 Cherry Hill Road Baltimore, MD 21225. A service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Ritchie Highway Brooklyn Park, MD 21225.
