I have so many fun memories of Ruth. All our family trips when she would be the first one up and how she was always game to do any activity. I especially remember the cruise we did for my 50th birthday and all the laughs we had. She was one of the kindest people I've ever known and she was always interested in my children and what they were doing. Her love of plants has trickled down to my son John and both he and Will talk about how "Ruth would love this flower bed". I also remember one time when she stayed with me in Atlanta when she was giving a talk. I was so impressed with her knowledge and how much respect she had from her colleagues. I loved having her as my sister-in-law and I'm so happy she was part of our family. I will miss her laughter and sense of humor but I'm so thankful to have known her and loved her!

Ruth – Mom was a wonderful mother to me, her son. As I look at the pictures from over 80 years of life I am blissfully reminded of what a purposeful and beautiful life she had. We often say life is short and I think we say that because of all of the great memories we have so we never want it to stop.
I always knew that when I needed something whether it be advice or a hug that she would provide that unconditionally. She cared about the environment deeply as she knew how important the balance of the world’s ecosystem is. She loved being a horticulturist and I am proud of her many accomplishments.
I was lucky to her has a mother and she will never be forgotten.
