Royal Jacob Adams Sr.'s Obituary
Royal “Jake” Adams, Sr. son of the late Jacob Aster Adams and Lucille Estelle Hunt-Adams was born on June 6, 1944 in Annapolis Maryland. His peaceful transition was on Thursday, February 19, 2015.
Boysie or Jake as he was affectionately known attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools and was a graduate of Wiley H. Bates, class of 1962. He played left guard varsity football and his team was undefeated. After graduation, he worked for Westinghouse and the U.S. Naval Academy. He attended Lincoln Tech in Baltimore, Maryland where he received his certification as an auto mechanic before beginning his career as Lead Auto Mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked and retired after 45 years of dedicated service. He also attended Oklahoma Sooners University where he received further education in his field.
He was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge No.#46 and The Generals Gulf Club.
Growing up around the water he loved fishing, crabbing and hunting. He later developed a love for golfing and enjoyed dining out and working on cars.
Jake leaves to cherish his memories two daughters Kim R. Harris (Greg) Kina R. Maynard (Mark) two sons Royal “Pete” Adams, Jr., and Ronnie J.Adams (Pam) seven grandchildren, eleven great grand children, two brothers Arthur Thomas (Lester) Ronnie “Dean” Adams (Juanita) three sisters Lucille Jefferson, (Robert) Rosemary Adams (Charles) and Betty Adams. Two aunts Thelma Cornish and Esther Hawkins. He leaves also to cherish his memories a host of friends, nieces and nephews. Devoted friends “Marvin Skip” White, Joanne R. Price, Ike Johnson (deceased) Theresa Gross, Ramona Scott & Desiree Lester.
He was pre-deceased in death by His brother Bruce Adams and his son Reginald Joseph Adams.
