Roy Allen Jackson's Obituary
Roy Allen Jackson of Pasadena, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, following a brief battle with cancer. He was 65.
Mr. Jackson was born on September 5, 1948 in Colorado, while being raised in Wyoming. He was the oldest of four boys. Mr. Jackson spent six years as the Commissioner of Mountain Road Soccer and recently began helping coach a girls’ team associated with them. He was actively involved with coaching both soccer and lacrosse for his daughters while they were growing up. In addition to enjoying being with his family, and his passion for coaching, he was an avid golf player and made annual trips to South Carolina for a week of freshwater fishing with his longtime golfing buddy.
Mr. Jackson was soon to retire from his position at CAS Severn in Laurel, MD, where he served as Vice President of Systems Engineering.
Mr. Jackson was married for 32 years to Maria Ann Kelly Jackson of Pasadena, MD. He is survived by his three daughters; Kathleen Wheatley of Parkton, MD, Erin Jackson of Pasadena, MD, and Sarah Jackson of Millersville, MD; one granddaughter; Kelly Wheatley; and his two brothers; James Jackson of Sheridan, WY and Edward Jackson of Broken Bow, NE.
Mr. Jackson was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
A Remembrance Tribute will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD on Tuesday, August 26th from 3-5pm, with a time of Shared Memories beginning at 3 PM.
